Brittain Storck has been practicing design and planning for five years. She has a background in project management, design development, and site design as well as her preferred focus, in conceptual design, planning, and graphic communication. Before relocating to North Carolina, Brittain worked with several sustainable design firms in Santa Barbara, California as a designer and project manager where she collaborated on many multi-disciplined team efforts working within a range of scales, from urban revitalization projects and campus planning to detailed site design.
At Greenways Incorporated, Brittain has taken a lead role in plan development, project management, public workshop facilitation, graphic communication, and field reconnaissance. She has provided report writing, project presentation boards, illustrative graphics as well as marketing materials for the firm’s planning and design projects.
Brittain has contributed design guidelines and content to the following planning efforts: The Jacksonville, NC Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan; the Carrboro, NC Bicycle Plan; the Cherokee, NC Pedestrian Plan, Spartanburg’s Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan, and the Wake Forest, NC Trails Update Plan. She has managed design efforts for the Rocky River Greenway conceptual plan in Concord, NC; the Concord Transit Circulator Feasibility Study in Concord, NC; the Bolin Creek Greenway Conceptual Master Plan in NC; the Lower Pittman Wash Trails Feasibility Study in Henderson, NV; Phase 1 RTP Mountain Bike Trails in Research Triangle Park, and Phase 14-16 of the Research Triangle Park Pedestrian Trails Network in NC.
Brittain’s current work is focused on the master plan for Chimney Rock State Park in NC, construction documents for the Rocky River Greenway Phase 1, planning efforts for Carrboro’s Safe Routes to School Action Plan, design of Phase 17-18 of the RTP Pedestrian Trails Network, and the design of the East Lyon Station Greenway in Butner, NC.
